Positive mind, positive outcome

Bijgewerkt: 19 jun 2020

During these weird times it is not always easy to stay positive, not at all. Especially when the only thing you hear is bad news.

HOWEVER, WE can! In this little blog, I listed some of my tips & tricks to help you stay positive and spread positivity like glitter around you. Figuratively speaking obviously, because Corona can stick on glitters...

  1. Put on funky songs. My favourite genre is reggaeton. It just makes me instantly happy and it is hard not to start dancing. Click here for the Spotify profile of a friend of mine with some cheerful playlists.

  2. Eat the rainbow. Whenever I am cooking, I try to eat as many different colours as I can. This is a fun challenge and it will make you more aware of what you eat and most likely prevent you from snacking. So the next time you want to make a ratatouille, use a yellow bell pepper instead of a red one because your tomato sauce is already red.

  3. Go outside, if you can. In Santiago, Chile (where I am currently) it is not an option anymore to go outside. Once you are in lockdown, you realise how much you enjoy a little walk in the open air. So if you can, please do and enjoy it! Keep a safe distance to other people.

  4. Call your grandma/pa, (best) friend... Especially the elderly appreciate this small effort enormously. With your best friend(s), just hold an apéro together or make a recipe both at the same time. And why not have an online date? Dating 2020 be like; if I don't like you so much, my connection got suddenly lost...

  5. Don't focus on the bad news. If you, like me, don't fancy hearing bad news on a loop, switch off your tv and radio and follow tip number 1.

  6. Last, but not least, try the LIS⎨T⎬A  workouts and instead of quarantaine make it a quaranTRAIN.

I hope this has helped a little bit to get through these weird times. If any one has more tips, please leave them behind in the comments. Together we will get through this.
